To the toilet paper that is often forgotten:
So much of my life depends on you,
You are white, fluffy, and ply of two.
Thank for you always being around
Never lose you sense of being wanted
You are needed by many
And everyone knows it
Because when you are gone
Everyone
Wants
You
There.
To my turtle bear,
You have been there through thick and thin,
From broken hearts to skin shins.
You are not like most animals
And everyone can tell
You have a purple bear body
And a green turtle shell
To me you are just a friend
That will always be there
Through thick and thin
Broken heart to skin shins.
I Am
I am large and rugged
I wonder who is brave enough to cross my path
I hear the sound of the ocean calling me to sea
I see my men plundering a nearby ship
I want all the booty in the world
I am large and rugged
I pretend to care about my 14 wives
I feel the ship rocking back and forth
I touch my bows tied in my thick beard
I worry about the Navy catching up to me
I cry knowing that my life is at risk
I am large and rugged
I understand that I am the meanest and badest pirate
I say that everyone should fear me
I dream of receiving my Letter of Marque
I try to be the only ship at sea
I hope that the next ship we plunder is full of treasure
I am large and rugged

Writing about toilet paper was such a great idea! It is such a necessity that we often don’t think about that much. I have never seen a turtle bear before but it looks cute. I like the repetition of the phrase “broken hearts to skin shins” to reveal how long you have had turtle bear.

Your toilet paper poem is so funny!! And true!! I also really love the repetition in your poem about the turtle bear. Very descriptive words!! Good job!
I love that you chose two items that evoked contrasting feelings! The toilet paper poem was light hearted and I especially liked how you wrote the last line using more spacing. The poem about your Turtle Bear was very sweet and the way you repeated the first couple of lines at the end put a unique emphasis on your words. Great job!
